Hi all,
I recently found librivox podcast. its listed on www.whitestick.co.uk, but it comes up if you do a search for reading on podcast alley. I don't have a podcatcher, and it was advied i just download one at a time direct, since i'm o n dial up. I feel i have better control doing it that way anywy than i would using a podcast client. Anyway, librivox has clasic books in th epublic domain which are done in audio by volunteers. some i don't care for, but others i do. I've already downloiaded present at a hanging and other ghost tales by ambrose bierce, and there are some other ghost stories by him. th epresent at a hanging wasn'[t very long so didn't take too long to download. Some of the others include, black beauty, frankenstien, dracula, dr doolittle and others. I've read dracula on project gutenberg, but jaws was doing th ereading, and i've never read it in audio, which i think will be much better. they ay their aimis to be the audioequivalent of project gutenberg. i think thats so neat. well just thought i'd throw that in there. wonderwoman
If you want a podcatcher that's accessible, there's one called, oddly enough, Accessible Podcatcher or something like that. Try www.webbie.com.uk and I think you can get it there. It depends on Realplayer to do its thing so you will need that installed on your machine. The thing is with that one is you can listen to podcasts via streaming and you don't ahve to download them at all. Unfortunately, I can't seem to access the Darcy and Holly Show with that one, so I prefer to use Juice as my podcatcher.
thanks labyrinth,
don't know how reliable it would be with my dial up connection though, but i do have real player 10 on this computer, i mean real one. guess it woldn't work with real alternative huh? thanks,
wonderwoman
I prefer my books in braille, so I don't really listen to them unless I really need to.
